Leaving, but why ?

The most evident answer to our desire to leave is our passion for travel . We thrive to get close to new cultures in unknown countries, whether during our family holidays or European city breaks.

We are not dodging our responsibilities nor fleeing our daily lives. We are simply willing to take a break and live this adventure as a family. Live a unique experience and thus build privileged ties amongst each other. We want to make the most of this opportunity to take a break in our everyday life to take care of one of another, to take time.

When and where to go ?

We will be travelling 1 whole year, non negotiable ! departure in July 2018 and we shall be back in July 2019, in order to lessen the impact of our world tour on our children’s schooling.

The destination : from West to East. First, South America, then Oceania, and ad last Asia.

We would like to be able to spend an average 20 or 30 days per country.

Meeting children’s books illustrators

We hope to meet 40 to 45 illustrators during our trip throughout 3 continents (Asia, Oceania and America).

They will take part in the illustration of our travel diary. Their drawings will be published on our website as we go along.

Back in France, we want to organize exhibitions with the original sketches, educative leaflets, biographies, the illustrators bibliographies and present all this material to schools and libraries, places where children, youngsters and adults will be able to discover the work of world wide children’s books illustrators.

Take the time to be together

It is above all an adventure as a family, we want to take the time to discover a bit more of this whole unknown world in which we live, immerse ourselves in new cultures, new landscapes, new ways of life.

This world tour will help our children to stay broad-minded and curious about others and the world.

We thought this project as an everyday family life, enabling us to see our children grow and share with them the emotions and bliss of new experiments and thus contribute to their opening up to the world and their personal development.
